Notre hotel—a lovely spot in Brittany / Notre hotel, czyli śliczne miejsce w Bretanii

We arrived in the evening, exhausted—worn out like galley slaves. The hotel awaited us right next to the church, behind a tall white fence. We immediately felt a sense of „home away from home,” especially since the hosts—the owners—turned out to be absolutely delightful. Evening falls up to two hours later in this far-western corner of Europe than in Poland, though at eight in the morning, it is still grey outside.

The garden is small, but we were given a section of it „for our own use,” along with a ground-floor room that opens directly onto a large bush of marguerite daisies.

As you can see, the dog has already made himself at home. Come on in—the little room is truly lovely: / Jak widać pies już się rozgościł. Zapraszam do środka, pokoik jest naprawdę śliczny:

Great idea, right? Madame Martine, our hotelier 🙂 is full of ideas; every room in the hotel has a unique character. And the breakfasts she serves! I really should have packed some looser clothes… Take a look at what it looks like on the other side, too:

Fajny pomysł, prawda? Madame Martine, nasza hotelarka 🙂 ma mnóstwo pomysłów, każdy pokój w hotelu ma inny charakter. A jakie serwuje śniadania!!! Mogłam zabrać luźniejsze ciuchy… Zobaczcie jeszcze jak wygląda po drugiej stronie:

Heading out to the garden, there’s an old wardrobe with a large mirror on the right, and straight ahead—the man who’s always working even while on vacation: Zbig.

A tiny bathroom window—almost completely overgrown—looking out onto a stranger’s garden; a mysterious one, naturally. Did I mention already how lovely it is here? It’s a tiny fishing town, and there aren’t many tourists. But more on that next time.
